Red Bird Ministries: Loving Through Loss
The death of a child is never easy and grief is experienced differently by everyone. Red Bird Ministries is a Catholic grief support ministry that focuses on couples who have experienced the loss of a child of any age by loving them through their loss. Core team members of Red Bird Ministries are parents of loss and know all too well what it is to live through such a horrific experience. Our goal is to help couples living this nightmare to not just survive their loss, but to love them through it by sharing our own experiences and healings, in hopes of helping them to survive and thrive in their marriages and in life. Please contact Kelly Breaux at (337) 223-2019 or at kelly@redbird.love for more information. Visit our website at www.redbird.love.

Year of St. Joseph
The Year of St. Joseph in the Diocese of Lafayette has begun and will continue through May 1st. We are celebrating the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph being declared the Patron of the Universal Church. Our own St. Joseph Church in Ville Platte is one of the pilgrimage sites where the plenary indulgence can be obtained by visiting and praying at the church. The plenary indulgence requires Holy Communion that day, prayers for the Pope and confession within 20 days for venial sins, for mortal sins confession must be done before.
When is the best time to visit St. Joseph Church?
- On the 1st Saturday of each month and/or the 19th of each month. (For this reason, our 8:00am first Saturday Masses will be done at St. Joseph Church.)
- Every Sunday morning at the 8:30am Mass
- Every Wednesday evening at 6:00pm for the St. Joseph devotion (prayers to St. Joseph, rosary, Litany, etc. will be recited).
- Schedule an appointment by calling our office!
St. Joseph, pray for us!
*On Saturday, February 6th, our 8:00am morning Mass will be at St. Joseph Church instead of Sacred Heart.
