Have you ever wondered: What’s the difference between a Jesuit and a Benedictine?

A Franciscan and a Carmelite? How did they get their start anyway?

Fr. Mitch Guidry has these answers and more!

Join us Monday, May 14th, for the next Back-to-Basics lecture on the different Catholic religious orders. The free talk begins at 5:30 pm in the OLQAS Family Life Center.

+ FOUND BABY SHOWER: Over 50 million babies have been murdered since Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton’s child-killing decisions of January 22, 1973. During the time it takes you to read this, five babies – each special, unique, and innocent – will be murdered in child-killing centers in America. The Sacred Heart FOUND Project would like to show their pro-life support by hosting a Baby Shower. All the proceeds will be donated the Desormeaux Foundation in Lafayette.  Students are asked to bring gently used baby clothes, maternity clothes, toys, strollers, beddings, diapers, bottles, etc.  Items may be dropped off in your child’s homeroom between Monday, May 7th and Wednesday, May 16th. All the items will be brought to Baby and Me Boutique, one of the Outreach Program of the Desormeaux Foundation.

+ TROJAN DAY ANNOUNCEMENT:  The date of our 2018 Trojan Day has been scheduled for Saturday, August 18th. We are extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to continue to share our love and Trojan pride by hosting this event. As many of you are aware, it takes a joint effort from the members of our Trojan family to make this a special day for our students and families. With that being said, Jamie Vidrine has graciously volunteered to be the Chairman and is need of additional volunteers to help plan this amazing event. Please contact Jamie @ 337-849-5448 if you would like to help. We appreciate our Trojan families’ continued support and dedication!

A Prayer for Those Afraid of their Motherhood

Lord God, we thank you, the Source of Life, for all those who have welcomed and nurtured our lives. In particular, we thank you for our mothers, who with trust in you and self-sacrifice beyond description, have made it possible for us to live and praise you today. Give them the reward of their labors.

Today, Lord, we also pray for mothers who are afraid of being mothers. We pray especially for those carrying a child within them, but afraid to bring that child to birth. Look with favor on these, your daughters, and give them trust and strength. Enable them to give themselves to their children, as you give yourself to us, and to experience the joys of motherhood. Enable us to do our part to encourage them and provide for their needs. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
